Today Ponui and Pakatoa reading groups were finding out all the different part of a non - fiction book, such as, Tittle, Index, and Subtitle. We read a book on Mapopraphica facts. As a whole group we had to find the right place to put the arrow on. I enjoyed doing this activity because it helped me learn where all the right things are. We all communicated to each other to figure out the right spot on the book. When some people got it wrong we all helped that person out so that they can know where it is. I got 2 answers wrong, and thanks to everyone for helping me get the right answer.

Spaghetti Bridge Testing
For the past few weeks Ms Kirkpatrick's inquiry group have been constructing their bridges out of spaghetti pasta. In the beginning everything was pretty easy until the weeks started flying by and the assignment was nearly due. It was also difficult because of the limited supplies. The limited supplies forced all the groups to trade with one and other to get the project done. Zane, Coree and I built a cantilever bridge that was only able to hold one brick. The original design was too difficult to execute so we simplified it. If we had added more triangles or cross braces our bridge would have been able to hold more bricks. The total span of our bridge was 42 centimetres making it the second longest bridge. Sanujan, Jack, and Jericho had constructed a bridge that was able to hold six bricks in total. It was hilarious to see the bridges break and some of the designs were amazing. Personally I think that we had the best looking bridge and was only rivaled by Nyjah's. This has taught me that we should always look at strengthening the deck and to never become an architect.
CARE Award - Respect | Researching The Song Respect
Today I completed another task for my respect CARE award, CARE stands for Confidence, Attitude, Respect and Excellence and Innovation. For it I needed to research interesting facts about Aretha Franklin's song Respect. Along the way I found many new and interesting things like for example; the song's been used in the movie Forrest Gump, although I've watched it I never noticed the song
Tech Reflection - Decorative Letters|Names
We are three weeks into our new orientation at Tamaki College and we have finished our name art. They are different because we did them in decorative letters for example instead of writing an 'I' I did a candle. Mr Pineda (Tech teacher) has laminated it for us and they look great. I drew some patterns from my culture because it is my culture.

Duffy assembly
Today Panmure Bridge had their Term 3 Duffy Assembly. We had two special guest Campbell from Main freight and our special visitor Michel Mulipola. If you don't who he is, he is a comic book illustrations. It was surprising to hear that he was a professional wrestler, and a semi-professional tekken gamer. He came to tell us about his life story and what he does as a career. I was shocked to hear that he was a semi-professional tekken gamer. He was also here to give out our Duffy Books. The second photo above is a picture he has illustrated for the book Fanene Peter Maivia (Son Of Samoa). The photo is Dwayne Johnson's grandfather. In this book it talks about how Peter Maivia is wrestling for the world title in Samoa, Apia. In my perspectives I think Michel has illustrated this character amazingly. We all thank him for what he had done today and hope he comes again. I would also like to thank Campbell from Main freight who came today and our two librarians who sorted out our library books

Hipposandal DLO
Today for reading our group read a story about Horseshoes. After we finished reading and answered the question we move of to the making DLO. For this activity I need to make the DLO that shows labeled Hipposandals. One of the thing that I learnt was Hippo is the Latin for Horse.
