The Inchape Rock

This week, while both our teachers were off to Chicago, America for a conference we had Mr Johnson. We studied a old fashioned poetry called the Inchape Rock. We read all 17 verses and were to only pick one and make a DLO about and explain what the verse meant. I decided to choose verse 1. I decided to choose this verse because it starts off the poem with an interesting rhymes.

M and M

Image result for m and m

Today for reading we have been completing challenges that hep us work collaboratively in groups. Today for our reading task we have been learning information about M&M'S. Collaboratively means talking and communicating with others so that they understand that you have ideas to share to our challenges. Today for our M&M tasks we worked in a group to find out a lot of information about M&M's like who invented M&M'S. 2 facts that I found interesting was that peanut M&M's were invented in 1954 and over 400 million M&M's are made every day.

Tech - Food

Today at tech i worked with Lyric to complete on how to bake chocolate muffins. The hardest thing to do making a Chocolate Muffin was to mix well because the flour would be lumpy if we didn't, and not to mix it too long because if we did the muffin's wouldn't puff up. At the end of the making the muffins, My partner Lyric and I manage to make a proper Chocolate Chip muffins. If I made these again I wouldn't change the ingredients because the muffins taste very nice and I wouldn't change the baking time because they rose nice.

The measurements:
1 1/2 cup of self rising flour

1/2 a cup of milk
1/4 tsp of vanilla essence
1 egg

Equipment:
Teaspoon
scrapper
silver big bowl
and an oven...

Oven temper:
180 for 15 minutes.

Tech - Food

Today was our first time cooking a savoury dish with Mrs Tuipolotu. Today Miki and I made twelve ham and cheese quiche. Firstly Miki cut the pastry into twelve and put them into a muffin tray, then  we diced the ham finely and added the grated cheese and the ham into our pastry. After that we whisked the eggs and milk then poured the liquid mixture over all the quiches. Lastly we set the temperature of the oven to 180 degrees and cooked it for 15 minutes. I really enjoyed cooking today because we are now cooking a variety of different cooking techniques and dishes. Ir was very hard because we were doing the ingredients, and trying to look at the oven so it will the right temperature.

A slice of ham
Cheese (grated)
4 eggs
1/2 cup of milk.
Preheat the oven to 180

Kiwi Sport

Today was our fifth session of Rippa Rugby with Hamish (Rippa Rugby Coach). First we played a game called rippa rush. Rippa rush is like the game octupous. In this game everyone had 2 rippa's on their belts. The point of this game was to try and rip peoples tag off before they ran to the other side. This week for kiwi sport we have been learning how to create a long wal and go up together as a teaml to stop others from running to the other side. Everyone stayed together so that there wasn't a huge gap for someone for the runner to run through. Last but not at least we played a short game of rippa rugby, then it was time for us to go back to class. I would like to say thank you to Hamish for running this lovely rippa rugby session for us.

Facts about Geese

This week for reading we had to complete a DLO on Geese. Before we started making our DLO's we did a key to evaluation sheet. The article I read this week was called Fred's Decision. First I read the article and then I answered about 3 or 4 questions using some part of the text and question. The article was about a boy that used geese to guard his cars so that if anyone tries stealing his sport cars the geese will make a very loud noise. To complete this task I created a google draw showing  facts about geese and also a labeled geese

KiwiCan

Today in Kiwi Can we worked on a new topic called accountability. Accountability is when you take responsibility of your own actions. We can show Accountability by coming to school early. First we started off with our energizer called copy me. After that we played our activity called Green light, with a partner, and the game we played for our activity was about honesty. We had to make sure we go out of the game once we were out and not cheating and blaming it on others . I'm sure that everyone we enjoyed every single bit of it. I would like to say thank you to Mr Matt and Miss Lily for organizing fun games and activities for us to do in Kiwi can. And also say thank you to Ms Morris for supervising us

Read theory

This reading theory image shows you my progress on read theory. Read theory is a reading site that helps me develop your reading knowledge. First you need to read a text and then answer some questions. If you get a answer wrong you will stay on your current level, but if you get everything right you will move a level up. My goal is to achieve my reading skills and go to grade 3 and 5.

Student Led Conferences

On Thursday was Student Led Conferences where students had to show their digital learning to their parents. First I was to introduce our teachers and my grandma to each other. Then we were to show our guardian/parents (which was my grandma) around the room and explain to them what we did, what we learnt, and what we enjoyed. I really enjoyed showing my pop art design because my grandma really like art. My grandma was really impressed because she had a similar pop  art to the one we did at home. Soon we were to go on our devices and show them our learning for writing, reading maths, inquiry and including our blogs. We read our scripts that we worked on for the previous weeks and showed them what goes on in our classrooms and in learning time. My grandma and I got the chance to speak to a teacher from tamaki college, who was speaking to both of us about getting a scholarship there. My grandma sure had fun and was impressed to meet my teachers.

Kiwi Sport

This week was our second session for Kiwi Sport with Hamish (Rippa Rugby Coach). We played a game of Rippa Rugby which was fun because we were allowed to pass forward but if one of your rippas was tagged off you were to pass the ball backwards. Luckily, I scored four tries just to make my team win. After the game we practiced our side step skills with Hamish since there is a lot of side steps that happen in tag or rugby. We were to step with our weak leg (my one was my left) so when it comes to a game we are use to stepping with both foots. We also practiced how to spin which was fun because some of us were really dizzy. At the end we were splited into group to play a little game of tag. First we were counted from 1-13. Then Hamish would pick a team to attack (run the ball) and the other team to defend (take of the rippa from the opposite team). Hamish was to call a number for example four. Then number four from the attack group would receive the ball from Hamish while the other number 4 from the other group was to try take the rippa from them. Thank you to Hamish for coaching us and Mr Johnson (principal) for supervising us

Award for Kiwi sport

Today at assembly and I got an award for Kiwi sport at school. I got the award with Hajera. The certificate was about doing the right thing and listening to the person who coached us at rippa rugby. I would like to thanks Ms  Morris for rewarding me the certificate.

1877 Education Act

This week, the other task for poetry was to create a DLO based on what life was like back in the 1870s. I worked with Jeremiah, Jay-Don and Alex to create this. My group decided to do the education law that was passed throughout the country in 1877, for it we needed to research what the teachers wore and what the classrooms looked like.

Assembly - Samoan Language Week

This week I did the assembly presentation with two of my classmates; Alex and Angela. Angela and I were speaking the script in Samoan whilst Alex was translating it to English for the rest of the school. This was the first time I'd ran and assembly, I was scared and nervous, but I then realized that Alex, Angela and Mrs Anderson were there to support me. I tried not to screw any parts up, but I saw something wrong on the script, so I made something up. I would like to say thank you to Mrs Anderson and the school leaders for helping me set up.

Ballad Poem- Charlotte Ann

Today we learned about a ballad poem. A ballad poem is a poem that tell a story. Alex,
Jaydon, Jeremiah and I work really hard to answer the questions. We learned a
lot about the work in 1900's, I learned that many people criticise women in 1900's.
Many people  said that women can't do what men can do, But Charlotte Anne prove
that women can do what men can do.
